INNOVATIVE
LiteForce features PK001, a thermoplastic polymer processed at high temperatures. Formerly used in cutting-edge systems, Ray-Ban is the first brand to use this material in the eyewear sector.
DURABLE
PK001, a material offering excellent chemical and mechanical resistance.

The New Wayfarer LiteForce features amazing technology. Made of PK001, a thermoplastic polymer forged at extreme temperatures so strong and light it’s used in aeronautics and surgical equipment.
This gives a better, lightweight fit with excellent durability. All packed in the sleek, timeless design you know and love.
Liteforce is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic used in the aerospace and chemical industries because of its outstanding chemical and mechanical resistance. Applied to eyewear, these features guarantee exceptional lightness, strength and gauge that are difficult to achieve with traditional materials.
In 2012, Liteforce was introduced for the first time by Ray-Ban and used to create a classical Aviator and a men's Tech model. In 2013, Ray-Ban also used it for its Wayfarer sunglasses, which met with immediate overwhelming success thanks to their unique look that was made lighter and more functional by the use of such an innovative and durable material. This is further proof that customers are concerned with style as well as comfort and improvements introduced by new technology. Light and resistant eyewear that has character yet does not impose this onto the wearer.
If lightness, resistance and substance are important in sunglasses, they are essential for the perfect prescription glasses.
In 2014, Liteforce was re-introduced in the vision segment, with a complete collection that includes five different shapes, original colors and an innovative opaque-shiny finish.
The star is as always the Wayfarer, presented in the new prescription glasses version with all the ductility and elegance of the original and new versions. The frame is entirely made from Liteforce. The metal micro-fusion crafted hinge is incised with the Ray-Ban logo. The classic Wayfarer version is available in opaque grey, black, opaque dark blue, petroleum blue and purple. The new Wayfarer version comes in opaque grey, black, petroleum blue and purple.
Proof that Liteforce is an avant-garde material is the fact that new versions of the Wayfarer are also available in the sunglass sector. The colors are black with green lenses, amaranth with pale brown lenses, dark brown with brown polarized lenses and dark purple with pale grey polarized lenses.
